December, 2019

Chase Parents,

Your support is critical!  We need you to support Chase and stress good attendance at home and we need our students to attend school daily.  Every day your child is absent, Chase loses $67 per child, per day.  Those funds lost are services we cannot purchase to help your children–school supplies, counseling services, tutoring, etc., Please make sure your children get plenty of sleep, eat properly, exercise daily, complete their homework and feel safe at school.  Let us know how we can assist you.  Our Attendance Counselor, Ms. Pendence Jones is here on Mondays to assist you!

It is very important that you sign-up for the LAUSD Parent Portal. You are able to view your attendance and child’s grades; if there is a phone number change, you can change it through the Parent Portal. Please visit the Parent Center for assistance.

Friday, December 20th is our ever-popular Winter Program.  Yes, we are having three performances, but we are asking parents to please choose ONE performance to attend (8:30am Performance is the most popular).  Due to Fire Laws, we must abide to maximum seating of 250.  We apologize for any inconvenience. Congratulations to parents who received ‘Front of the Line’ Tickets at the Coffee with the Principal Meeting, December 13th.

Also, please look for the District’s and Chase’s Parent Involvement Policy and Chase’s updated Title I School Parent Compact that you should have received during the break (mailed 11/20/19).

Friday, December 20th is a REGULAR dismissal day; students are dismissed at 2:36pm. Winter Break is Monday, December 23rd – Friday, January 10th.  I wish all Cougar families a wonderful Holiday Season!

Our office hours: 7:15am -4:30pm.  Please call or visit the Main Office if you have any questions.

I ask that you please make sure your children read every day and study their math facts –make every day a learning day!

ALL Cougars are expected to be SAFE, RESPECTFUL and RESPONSIBLE

The latest on-line version of  Chase’s School Accountability Report Card (SARC) is available.  Please call the Main Office for a written copy or Click here to view SARC.

Chase ES is a No-Bully Zone.  To report Bullying, students may report to the Title IX Managers:  Mrs. Gervasoni, Mr. Alvarenga and/or Ms. Flores.

“Please contact the Office of Communications and Media Relations at communications@lausd.net or call 213-241-6766 to request access to or notify LAUSD about on-line information or functionality that is currently inaccessible. To file a formal grievance with the Los Angeles Unified School District, under Section 504 and Title II, please click here to learn how.“

Every Tuesday is a shortened day, 1:36pm dismissal

Dismissal Gates:  ETK/TK/Kindergarten – Hazeltine

ALL Cougars are expected to be SAFE, RESPECTFUL and RESPONSIBLE!
Please discuss with your children the importance of being KIND and keeping Chase SAFE.  Thank you!
