Happy 2020! I hope everyone had a holiday season filled with family and friends. As we return to school, our work continues! Teachers will continue to focus on planning and teaching Common Core standards-based lessons. Students will use the conversation Norms to participate in high-level, academic discussions and using questioning techniques to understand the curriculum. The teachers will teach the students the necessary skills, using the necessary scaffolds and the students try each day and understand practice and struggle is necessary to learn and succeed! Daily Attendance is the KEY! Our Attendance Counselor, Ms. Pendence Jones is here on Mondays to assist you!
This January, Chase is sponsoring meetings and presentations for parents to become more involved with your children’s academic and social emotional growth! On Tuesday, 1/21/20, 8:30am, ALL parents are invited to our ELAC/ Coffee with the Principal meeting. We will be reviewing student data. Kaiser Permanente will be here to present ‘Talkitos’, Wednesday, 1/22, 8:30am. This demonstration will give you ideas to have better discussions with your children. Finally, Thursday, 1/30/20, 4:30pm – 5:30pm, will be our Family Math Night! Come and learn math with your children. We want Chase to be a learning environment for the entire family!
It is very important that you sign-up for the LAUSD Parent Portal. You are able to view your attendance and child’s grades; if there is a phone number change, you can change it through the Parent Portal. Please visit the Parent Center for assistance.
Also, please look for the District’s and Chase’s Parent Involvement Policy and Chase’s updated Title I School Parent Compact that you should have received during the break (mailed 11/20/19).

Our Valet Drop-Off Gate will be opened from 7:30am – 8:03am at Colbath. Ms. Peaches and Mr. Ponce will greet you with a smile every morning! Please make sure you follow all traffic rules–we want all students safe before and after school!
