April, 2019

Chase Parents,

Spring has arrived and that means it is almost Spring Break!  However, for our Chase students, we also begin with our Spring Testing for EL students, the ELPAC.  All EL students will be tested on Reading, Writing, Listening and Speaking.  More than ever, it is very important for all students to come to school daily, especially our EL students.  Parents, we need your help and making sure our students stay healthy-get plenty of sleep, exercise daily, encourage students to eat healthy at home or at school-we serve afterschool supper, Monday through Friday.  Also, please make sure your children read 20 minutes each night.  This will help with increasing vocabulary.  Also, ask your child to summarize what he/she read.  We need to work together for your child’s success!  Thank you.

Also, on Thursday, April 4th, all Parents and Students are invited to Family Math Night; PTA will begin selling food at 4:00pm, then we have a Math presentation in the Auditorium at 4:10pm and lastly, you will engage in Math activities from 4:30pm-5:30pm.  ALL are invited!

I also hope everyone enjoys their Spring Break Monday, April 15th – Friday, April 19th!

Thank you teachers for your hard work and dedication!

Also, please look for the District’s and Chase’s Parent Involvement Policy and Chase’s updated Title I School Parent Compact that will be arriving soon in your mailboxes (mailed 11/30/18).

ALL Cougars are expected to be SAFE, RESPECTFUL and RESPONSIBLE

The office is OPEN for enrollment Monday – Friday, 7:30am – 4:30pm.  We are still accepting students in Grades TK – 5 (ETK is closed).

The latest on-line version of  Chase’s School Accountability Report Card (SARC) is available.  Please call the Main Office for a written copy or Click here to view SARC.

Chase ES is a No-Bully Zone.  To report Bullying, students may report to the Title IX Managers:  Mrs. Gervasoni, Ms. Klugh and/or Ms. Flores.   “Please contact the Office of Communications and Media Relations at communications@lausd.net or call 213-241-6766 to request access to or notify LAUSD about on-line information or functionality that is currently inaccessible. To file a formal grievance with the Los Angeles Unified School District, under Section 504 and Title II, please click here to learn how.“

Every Tuesday is a shortened day, 1:36pm dismissal
